White Porcelain Stem Cup

  • H 7.2㎝ MD 6.1㎝ BD 3.8㎝
  • Early to High Tang the end of 7th century to first half of 8th century
No.21093

White porcelain stem cup made to imitate silverware. Although there are some repair marks throughout, the thin body was well-shaped and it is clear that this work was extremely carefully made.
Based on similar silverware and white porcelain items excavated from the tomb, it is thought that this work dates from the end of the 7th century to the beginning of the 8th century, from the Early to High Tang period.

Provenance:
Karl Kempe (1884-1967) collection.
