The type of pottery called ‘Liao Sancai.’ Squared dish covered with three-colour lead glaze over moulded floral design, made after metal works of Liao dynasty. While there are many Liao Sancai imitating silverware, most of vessels are long plate or round dish, and there are not many square dish like this piece. Similar objects were excavated from the tomb in Liaoning Province (dated to 1089) and the tomb in Inner Mongolia. This work is thinly made, light and carefully made. And the vivid green colour is characteristic of this piece.
