No.21089

This shape of this piece is imitation of other crafts, not the original to ceramics: White porcelain seems to have begun by copying other crafts, such as those found in glassware. The similar item, although miniature, has been unearthed from the Li Jingxun tomb (608) in Xi’an in Shaanxi Province. Based on the similarity of the clay and glaze tone of this work to the bottle with checkien-head ornament (21090) or bottle with dish-shaped mouth (21091) in our collction, this may be attributed to Sui to early Tang.
