No.21071

White porcelain ring-handled cup with everted rim from straight sides. While there are many similar cups of this shape, there are few examples like this one that are more faithful to te original metal works, such as chamfering handle, leaf-shaped applied decoration and the string pattern on the rim and body. This shape is originally not of the pottery, but rather a copy of a metal vessel. According to the archaeological report on excavated materials from datable tombs, it can be found that this type of metal cup was used by wealthy class from the end of 7th century to 8th century and white porcelain copies of it began to be made after 8the century.
